all cloth with lots of sparkles and feathers (my cat loves her the best of all
my dolls...guess it's the feathers. (LOL) Her shoes were plastic key chains that I couldn't resist when walking thru Walmart one day. They actually had a right and left foot! is one of my original designs. she is 22" tall. Her costume is sequins, feathers, sparklie jewels and silk and fancy metallic fabrics . |
| Inspirations: I am calling her Dreams of Follie. Reminds me of Erte's 1923 Follies Bergere. |
| Herstory: She is Romantic - Fancy Free- Deco - and those great long legs...........Erte must have definitely been a leg man. |
| The Critics: I bet the judges broke out in a sweat
when they saw this one!! Let’s face it, she’s as cute as “all get-out” and has a wonderful humourous appeal but deciding what award she fell under must have given a few sleepless nights! She certainly deserved to win an award - those shapely legs complete with fishnet stockings and suspenders, and that peaches and cream face with its dimples and heavy lashes. (She had to have had more than one facelift during her lifetime to still look that good!) . I particularly like the headdress – though I think it could have been even larger without being out of place! Great work, Paula!
