Title: Patricia

Doll Artist: Kim Murdoch Profile / Articles / Webpage

Medium:...Polymer Clay- Cloth Media

Description: Patricia is a 16 inch, one-of-a-kind sculpture. No moulds were used in her construction. Her head, hands and legs are polymer clay. Her eyes and facial features are hand-painted with Genesis Heat-set oil paints. Her hair is viscose fibre. She has a cloth body over a wire armature. Because of the leg and armature construction she stands freely. She is dressed in a silk dress with an embroidered yoke and has a hand painted silk sash. She wears stockings and has leather shoes. Her coat is made from wool felt and is embellished with faux fur fabric. Her cloche hat is wool and is decorated with a hand painted silk sash and painted paper roses. She has a leather handbag on her wrist that was inspired by a picture of a French designed original handbag dated 1926. She has with her a little dog that I hand-sculpted in polymer clay and layered with viscose fibre in varying shades.

Inspirations: Her clothing was inspired by a copy of “Everylady’ magazine dated March 1, 1927 and a copy of “Modern Priscilla” magazine dated October 1927
