Sophie Thin Legs

This is my version of the Sewphie the stitcher pattern by Julie Mc Cullough. She didn't turn out to be a stitcher. Instead her thin legs had become her trade mark. I had hard time making her tab knee joints and shoes as Iwas beginning to sew by machine

I changed her hair style, the fabric of her dress is from an old dress. I made the earrings with some beads

This is another version of the doll made by my sister Emma. She took the face that I discarded and make me sew most of the parts, but she made the design and sewn the dress, she changed the pattern and altought I know it's not allowed Ididn't tell her as I tought that she may get the the cloth doll making bug.

Unfortunatley she haven't made more dolls.Don't you think I should encourage her to make another one?

Those two dolls have inspired the youngest dollmaker of my family. My 14 years old brother Andres. He spend a weekend in the countryside and remembering the pieces of Sewphie drew its own pattern. When I saw the doll finished, Iwas in shock, Ididn't even know that she was making her. He had already shown that he could make a doll (see my Xmas gift) but it was great that he spendd some of his free time designing, sewing and stuffing the doll. He sewed by hand and he was helped by my sister Lucia. He is my biggest support. Let's wait to see his next doll.

I have two sisters and a brother. I´m at 29 the oldest, then goes my sister Emma (27), and my sister Lucia (17), and last my brother Andrés (14). I love this doll ensemble because all my family worked on it. So far the dolls share a shelf. They get along quite well although as good siblings keep arguing about silly things
